ADI與MDA聯手為Telesat Lightspeed衛星星系提供波束成型技術,促進全球連網能力

台北2021年4月8日 /美通社/ — Analog Devices, Inc. (Nasdaq: ADI) 今日宣布與MDA聯手提供波束成型IC (BFIC),這些晶片將用於MDA的精密相位陣列天線,以組建Telesat Lightspeed的低軌道衛星(LED)衛星星系。Telesat Lightspeed初期將佈建298顆次世代衛星,並預計於2023年下半年發射,屆時將顛覆包括商務、政府、以及國防等市場全球寬頻連結的定義。

LEO低軌道衛星並非運行於固定位置,其飛越天際時必須動態調整通訊波束方向以保持和地面接收站不間斷的高速通訊。新開發的BFIC解決方案不僅具備高可靠度,並能在極端溫度與充斥宇宙射線的環境中運行,可持續維持至衛星10至12年壽期終了為止。

Analog Devices航太與國防部門副總裁Bryan Goldstein表示:「電子操控陣列技術是新一代低軌道衛星星系組建與營運不可或缺的環結。這項技術讓MDA與Telesat能夠同時操控多個波束,並讓波束能迅速重新定位,以達到機械式系統無法企及的速度。我們非常高興與MDA合作共同支持Telesat Lightspeed的衛星星系。」

MDA衛星系統部副總裁Amer Khouri表示:「與ADI的合作讓MDA能研發必要的關鍵解決方案,而能在Telesat Lightspeed的天線上執行電子波束操控。我們期盼延續合作,為此突破性計畫提供所需的大量天線。」
